Michael Mullany joined Icon Ventures in 2014, bringing over 17 years of executive experience. He has served in senior marketing positions and is credited with building great products for outstanding software and infrastructure companies. He is broadly sought after by many venture-backed companies to help address their strategy, product and go-to-market challenges.
Before joining Icon, Michael was the CEO of Sencha (an Icon investment), a leading provider of open-source web application frameworks and tools to major enterprises and developers. He also held senior product and executive marketing roles at influential Silicon Valley start-ups PeakStream, Netscape, Loudcloud and VMware. At virtualization leader VMware, he served as the vice president of worldwide marketing and product during its break-out into server computing. He also served on the Industry Advisory Board for Ericsson, North America.
Michael currently serves on the Board of Remesh and is a Board Observer for Timescale. He was previously on the Boards of Alation, Datrium (acquired by VMware) and Paravision. Additional prior Icon portfolio companies include Sencha (Idera) and Streamlabs (Logitech).
Michael holds an MBA from Stanford University where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar and a BA in economics from Harvard College.
